SpongeBob SquigglePants for Nintendo 3DS

About SpongeBob SquigglePants for Nintendo 3DS

SpongeBob SquigglePants is a party game hosted by Patchy the Pirate, the shows biggest fan. Patchy has put together a huge pile of nanogames, tiny challenges that last only a few seconds each, and he presents them with the pride of a man showing off his greatest treasure. One moment you are helping SpongeBob flip patties, the next you are guiding Sandy through the sky. Every game is drawn in a different art style, from comic book and retro pixel looks to wild paintings, so the whole package feels like a cartoon art gallery that never sits still.

Speed is everything here. Each nanogame gives you one simple job, like tap, tilt, draw or tap in rhythm, and only a heartbeat to work out what to do. Clearing games in a row builds your streak, while three misses end the run. The Nintendo 3DS version makes playful use of the touch screen and motion controls, so your hands stay busy. It is frantic, funny and ideal in short bursts, with the cartoon cast popping up in every style you can imagine.

A quick note on buying this one today. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, which means new digital purchases are no longer possible. Hunt for a physical cartridge through a game retailer or a second hand seller instead. If you bought the game digitally back in the day, you can still access your purchased games on the system you own, so your copy stays safe.

It is a hyper little party that SpongeBob fans will adore.
