The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn for Nintendo 3DS

About The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn for Nintendo 3DS

The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn follows the young reporter Tintin after he buys a model ship at a flea market. Inside it hides a scroll that speaks of the treasure of the Unicorn, a ship lost long ago. Thieves want the secret for themselves, so Tintin, his dog Snowy and the fiery Captain Haddock chase the trail from city streets to the open sea. The story mirrors the film of the same name and honors the classic comic albums that inspired it.

The adventure mixes side view platforming with puzzles and set piece chases. Tintin climbs, sneaks and fights his way through ships and strongholds, while Haddock sections retell the tale of his ancestor and the pirate Red Rackham. Extra modes add one on one sword duels and challenges that use the 3DS features in playful ways. Bright art keeps the look close to the film, and the pace moves briskly from one famous scene to the next. It is a tidy movie tie in with real charm.

The Secret of the Unicorn sailed onto the 3DS on cartridge in the film season. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, so new digital purchases are no longer possible today. A physical cartridge from a retailer is the honest way to play it now, and prices stay gentle for this one. If you bought it digitally before the closure, you can still access your purchased games on your system.

A brisk and charming hunt for a pirate age treasure.
