About UnchainBlades ReXX for Nintendo 3DS

UnchainBlades ReXX is the original Japanese version of the game the west later knew as Unchained Blades. It follows Fang, a young dragon emperor who lost his powers after insulting the goddess Clunea. Stripped of his strength, he travels toward her temple with a proud golem girl, a shy medusa and other unlikely allies. Their road leads through Titans, giant living labyrinths packed with monsters, traps and treasure waiting deep below the surface.

You explore each Titan in first person, drawing your route across gridded floors while random encounters test your party in turn based combat. Winning monsters over as followers is the signature idea, since those creatures add follow up attacks and handy support in later fights. Every major character was drawn by a different well known manga artist, which gives the cast a varied and memorable look. The story keeps asking what a wish is worth when pride gets in the way.

Because this release never left Japan, plan on the import route. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, so fresh digital purchases are no longer possible.
