Conception II: Shichisei no Michibiki to Mazuru no Akumu for Nintendo 3DS

About Conception II: Shichisei no Michibiki to Mazuru no Akumu for Nintendo 3DS

Conception II: Shichisei no Michibiki to Mazuru no Akumu is the full Japanese title of the RPG known in English as Conception II: Children of the Seven Stars. This original release from Spike Chunsoft tells the story of a gifted Disciple at a special academy, where students train to fight monsters emerging from the Dusk Circles that threaten the world. With the help of the academy heroines, the hero creates Star Children who fight as teams in the labyrinths. Japanese voice acting and text carry the story in this edition, making it a treat for import players.

The gameplay blends academy life with dungeon crawling in equal measure. Conversations and events raise your bonds, stronger bonds produce stronger Star Children, and those children form the three teams you command in turn based battles. Surrounding enemies and attacking their weak side is the key tactic, building chain attacks that can end fights quickly. Classes for the children range widely, so party building stays interesting across the long campaign.

Import RPGs like this live on the cartridge market now. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, so new digital purchases are no longer possible in any region. A Japanese physical copy from an import retailer is the straightforward way to play this edition. Owners who bought games digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games on their system, but for this Japanese original the boxed release is the version collectors seek.

The academy adventure in its original Japanese form.
