Unchained Blades for Nintendo 3DS

About Unchained Blades for Nintendo 3DS

Unchained Blades tells the story of Fang, an arrogant dragon emperor who dared to ask the goddess Clunea the name of the strongest creature alive. Offended, she stripped away his powers and dropped him into the mortal world. Now Fang crosses the land with a timid medusa, a proud golem princess and a young phoenix girl, entering living dungeons called Titans. He wants his strength back, yet the journey keeps testing his pride in ways no battle can.

Dungeon travel uses a first person view with careful mapping, hidden doors and turn based fights against monsters that can sometimes be won over. Bound monsters become followers who strike after your attacks and lend passive help, so building a good follower team matters as much as gear. Each lead character came from a different celebrated manga artist, and the English voice cast gives the long story scenes plenty of energy. It is a hefty adventure made for patient players.

If you want to play it today, think physical first. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, and new digital purchases are no longer possible. Retailers and second hand shops still list the cartridge from time to time, so a little patience usually pays off. People who bought the digital version while it was on sale can still access their purchased games on their Nintendo 3DS, just as they could before the closure happened.

Pride brought Fang low, and pride makes his quest fun.
