Layton’s Mystery Journey: Katrielle and The Millionaire’s Conspiracy for Nintendo 3DS

About Layton’s Mystery Journey: Katrielle and The Millionaire’s Conspiracy for Nintendo 3DS

Layton and his Mystery Journey introduces Katrielle Layton, daughter of the famous professor, who opens a detective agency in London. Her first client is a talking dog who cannot remember his name, and he soon becomes her unlikely assistant. Instead of one world saving plot, Katrielle takes on a series of smaller cases across the city, from a missing hand on Big Ben to strange events at a film themed restaurant. The tone is light, funny and full of charm, with London itself as the real star.

Each case is packed with puzzles to solve as you question suspects and search colorful scenes. The cases connect through the mystery of the Dragons, a group of rich and eccentric London figures whose secrets slowly come together. Katrielle can change outfits, and you can decorate her agency office with furniture earned along the way. Familiar puzzle types return alongside new ideas, and the difficulty stays welcoming for younger players and newcomers. Short cases suit handheld play well, since each mystery fits neatly into a single sitting.

The digital storefront chapter is over for this system. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, and new digital purchases stopped then. Your best option now is a physical cartridge from a retailer or a well reviewed second hand game seller in your area. Players who bought it digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games, which remain tied to their accounts.

Its charm has survived long after its release year passed.
