About The Keep for Nintendo 3DS
The Keep is a first person dungeon crawler in the classic style, built around a dark tower and the cruel wizard who rules it. Villages have lost their children to Watrys and his magic, and one brave hero climbs the tower to end his reign. Stone halls, traps and monsters wait on every floor. The mood is grim and focused, with a story told in short scenes that keep the climb tense. It honors the dungeon crawlers of old while fitting the whole quest onto a handheld.
Combat happens in real time, and your sword follows gestures drawn on the touch screen. Slashes from different angles matter against different foes, and runes gathered on the way let you cast spells with drawn shapes. Gear, potions and careful steps decide how deep you get before retreating to recover. Every floor mixes fights with puzzles and hidden passages, rewarding players who check every wall. It is a demanding game in the best old school way, where preparation and patience beat rushing every time.

The Keep reached the 3DS as a digital release from a small studio. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, so new digital purchases are no longer possible today. Players who bought it before the closure can still access their purchased games on their system as normal. New crawlers should look for used systems with the title installed, since this tower only opens for those who already hold the key.
A grim tower climb for crawlers with patience and a steady hand.
