Skylanders Swap Force introduces a clever twist to the toys to life idea. Long ago, a group of Skylanders was blasted apart by a magic volcano and gained the power to swap halves, and now they return to protect the Cloudbreak Islands from Kaos and his mother. The physical Swap Force figures split in the middle with magnets, so the top of one hero and the legs of another form a brand new fighter in the game, complete with mixed powers and a combined name that always makes kids smile.

The adventure itself is a bright mix of exploring, jumping and fighting across floating islands. Swap zones challenge you with movement powers like climbing, flying and bouncing that only the right bottom half can handle, which makes clever figure mixing part of the puzzles. Each half levels up and keeps its own upgrades on the toy. Story scenes are funny, levels are generous with secrets, and the jump button, new to the series here, makes exploring feel smoother than before.
