ARC STYLE: FreeCell for Nintendo 3DS

About ARC STYLE: FreeCell for Nintendo 3DS

ARC STYLE FreeCell takes the well loved computer card game and gives it a clean handheld home. Every card starts visible on the board, which means FreeCell is a game of planning rather than luck. You move cards between columns and free spaces, slowly building the four foundation piles in order while trying not to trap yourself along the way.

The touch screen makes moving cards quick and natural, and games can be finished in a few minutes or studied slowly like a chess problem. Because nearly every deal can be solved, losing always teaches you something about the order of your moves. It is a calm and thoughtful way to pass time, with no noise, no pressure and nothing between you and the puzzle on the table. The controls sit comfortably on the circle pad and buttons, and most actions can be learned within the first few minutes of play.

Buying ARC STYLE: FreeCell today takes a little patience. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, so new digital purchases are no longer possible. The honest way to play now is a physical cartridge bought from a retailer or a trusted game shop. People who bought the game digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games on their system, so long time owners have not lost their copies.

A small treasure from a very special era of gaming.
