Etrian Odyssey V takes place on the continent of Arcania, where four races live under the shadow of the great tree Yggdrasil. Legend says whoever reaches the top of the tree will have their wish granted, so adventurers from every land form guilds and begin the climb. Your party is one of them, and every floor brings the dream a little closer and the danger a lot nearer.

Character creation is deeper here, with races that shape stats, skills and even small exploration talents like fishing and foraging. Ten classes grow into legendary titles that split each role in two powerful directions. Mapping, FOE monsters and careful supply planning keep the classic tension alive. Union skills, performed together in a crisis, can turn a losing battle around in one bright moment. Short play sessions suit the handheld format well, yet the game also rewards long evenings when you can settle in properly.
