Pokemon Bank for Nintendo 3DS

About Pokemon Bank for Nintendo 3DS

Pokemon Bank was a service rather than a game, built to solve a problem every long time Trainer knows: where to keep a growing collection. It gave players private online boxes able to hold up to three thousand Pokemon, stored safely beyond any single game card. Pokemon from the Nintendo 3DS generation of games could be deposited and withdrawn freely, and a companion tool called Poke Transporter let players bring beloved partners forward from Pokemon Black, White, Black 2 and White 2, preserving years of memories in one careful move.

Using Bank became part of the ritual for dedicated players. Breeders stored their best projects, collectors organized living Pokedex collections box by box and battlers moved teams between versions without trading back and forth. The service ran on an annual fee at first, and later became free to use as the Nintendo 3DS era wound down, a kind gesture to loyal fans. Its role in the series was quiet but important, carrying countless Pokemon across a generation and laying the groundwork for the storage services that followed it on newer hardware.

Release	2013
Available on	Physical copies for Nintendo 3DS

Pokemon Bank was always a service, never a cartridge, so its story is a little different. When the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, new sign ups and purchases ended there, and the service later became free for the players who already had it in place. Trainers with Bank set up on their systems can still access their stored Pokemon while the service remains available to them.

A quiet service that guarded a generation of memories.
