Mini Mario & Friends: amiibo Challenge for Nintendo 3DS

About Mini Mario & Friends: amiibo Challenge for Nintendo 3DS

Mini Mario and Friends amiibo Challenge is a gentle puzzle game starring the little wind up toys from the Mario versus Donkey Kong series. Each mini marches forward on its own, and your job is to shape a safe path so it reaches the goal door without falling, hitting spikes or meeting an enemy head on. Scanning a Mario amiibo brings Mini Mario to the stage, while other Nintendo figures unlock their own minis, like Mini Luigi, Mini Peach, Mini Donkey Kong and even a tiny robotic Mini Mario with special moves.

You guide the minis by drawing girders, placing springs and moving blocks with the stylus, much like conducting small clockwork traffic. Every character mini has a signature skill, such as a wall jump or a high bounce, and stages are designed around using the right skill at the right moment. Players without amiibo can still play with a plain gold mini that has no special power, which makes the challenge noticeably harder.

Modern buyers need the physical route. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, which ended new digital purchases for the whole system. A physical cartridge from a retailer is the honest way to play this one now. This title was given away free during its digital life, so there is no standard retail cartridge to hunt for, and amiibo figures themselves remain easy to find in shops. If you bought a digital copy before the closure, you can still access your purchased games today.

Tiny toys, clever routes and a tap of an amiibo make a charming puzzle mix.
