HarmoKnight for Nintendo 3DS

About HarmoKnight for Nintendo 3DS

HarmoKnight is a rhythm platformer from Game Freak, the studio behind Pokémon. Young Tempo picks up a legendary staff and sets out to save the musical land of Melodia from the noisy Gargan and his minions. Every step, jump and strike lands on the beat of the music, so the whole world feels like one long song. Bright art and catchy tunes give the journey a joyful energy from the first stage onward.

You move forward on your own and your job is to hit enemies, jump gaps and gather notes in perfect time. Different stages change the rules, with mine cart rides, dances and boss battles that test your rhythm in new ways. Some stages use famous Pokémon music as a bonus treat for fans. Missing beats costs health, so listening closely matters as much as quick hands. It is a charming blend of platformer and music game that only this studio could make.

It is worth knowing how sales work for this title today. With the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed since March 2023, new digital purchases are no longer possible. A physical cartridge from a retailer is the honest way to play HarmoKnight now, and complete copies are prized by collectors. People who bought the game digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games as usual.

It still stands as a small gem of the Nintendo 3DS years.
