Wipeout 3 for Nintendo Wii U
About Wipeout 3 for Nintendo Wii U
Wipeout 3 is based on the hit television obstacle show where contestants bounce, slip and splash their way through outrageous courses. You guide your character across giant red balls, moving platforms and sweeping arms that are all designed to knock you into the water. The humor of the show is the heart of the game, with falls played for laughs and commentary style presentation. Courses are split into zones with themes, and the Wii U GamePad adds its own view of the action. It is pure slapstick in game form.
Each course mixes running, jumping and timing as sweepers and slides try to ruin your run. The controls are easy, but the obstacles are not, so finishing a zone cleanly feels like a small miracle. Split screen play lets a friend tackle the course beside you, and laughing at each other's falls is half the fun. You can replay zones to improve times and unlock new content. The GamePad camera in some modes even lets another player control obstacles, turning a friend into the course itself for extra mischief.

Obstacle fans can still take the course today. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Wii U closed in March 2023, so new digital purchases are no longer possible for Wipeout 3. A physical disc from a retailer is widely available and usually inexpensive in used game bins. Players who bought it digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games on their Wii U system.
Come for the course, stay for the spectacular splashdowns.
