The Wonderful 101 for Nintendo Wii U

About The Wonderful 101 for Nintendo Wii U

The Wonderful 101 is a joyful action spectacle from PlatinumGames, where one hundred heroes defend Earth from an alien invasion. Led by Wonder Red, the team can merge their bodies into enormous weapons, a glowing fist, a huge sword, a whip and more, drawn by tracing shapes on the GamePad. The scale is enormous, with battles spilling across cities and enemies the size of buildings. Beneath the noise sits a sincere story about teamwork and courage, told with the energy of a classic hero cartoon.

Combat rewards creativity. Different Unite Morphs suit different enemies, and mixing them mid battle builds huge scores. Heroes hide in every stage, and recruiting citizens grows your team and your options. The difficulty can be fierce, with screen filling bosses that demand quick drawing and quicker thinking, but easier settings welcome newcomers. Secrets, rankings and unlockable heroes keep the action fresh. It is one of the most original games on Wii U, a loud and loving celebration of heroes that never slows down.

Finding a copy today needs a little care. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Wii U closed in March 2023, so new digital purchases are no longer possible. The honest way to play now is a physical disc from a retailer or a trusted game shop. People who bought The Wonderful 101 digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games on their console, and a boxed copy makes a fine keepsake for any Wii U shelf.

It deserves a spot in your next game night plan.
