The Mysterious Cities of Gold: Secret Paths for Nintendo 3DS

About The Mysterious Cities of Gold: Secret Paths for Nintendo 3DS

The Mysterious Cities of Gold: Secret Paths is based on the beloved animated series and continues the journey of Esteban, Zia and Tao. The young explorers travel to China in search of clues about the legendary Cities of Gold, pursued as always by rivals who want the treasure for themselves. The story unfolds in animated scenes that feel like lost episodes, with the three heroes using their wits and friendship to escape traps and outsmart the adults hunting them.

Play switches between the three children, and each one matters. Esteban talks his way past guards, Zia reads ancient clues and slips into small spaces, and Tao uses his knowledge and gadgets to solve mechanical puzzles. Stages mix stealth, light puzzle solving and exploration, with collectibles hidden for careful searchers. The difficulty stays gentle, which suits younger players and fans of the show. It is an adventure about curiosity and teamwork rather than fighting.

A quick note on buying this one today. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, which ended new digital purchases for the whole library. The sensible route to The Mysterious Cities of Gold: Secret Paths now is a physical cartridge from a retailer or a well reviewed marketplace seller. Those who picked it up digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games on Nintendo 3DS as usual.

A kind and curious adventure that treats its young heroes with real respect.
