Steel Diver Sub Wars expands the submarine action of Steel Diver into a full first person shooter under the sea. This time you sit inside the sub, looking through the periscope as you hunt rival captains in murky water. The single player campaign teaches the ropes through a set of missions, but the real ambition lies in team battles, where groups of players stalk each other through wrecks and rock formations.

Patience is your main weapon. Sonar sweeps reveal enemy positions in brief pings, torpedoes travel slowly enough to dodge, and surfacing for air or repairs leaves you exposed at the worst moments. Custom paint jobs and crew members with different skills let you tune your boat to your style, whether you favour stealth or a head on fight. Online battles of four against four can turn wonderfully tense, with whole matches swinging on a single well judged shot. Even the chat system, built on simple preset messages and Morse style taps, adds charm to every victory.
