Spirit Camera: The Cursed Memoir for Nintendo 3DS

About Spirit Camera: The Cursed Memoir for Nintendo 3DS

Spirit Camera The Cursed Memoir is a horror adventure that turns your own surroundings into part of the game. You play as someone who receives a mysterious old diary, the Cursed Memoir, along with a strange camera. Inside the diary is Maya, a girl trapped by a dark curse and hunted by a woman in black. Using the cameras of the Nintendo 3DS as the Camera Obscura, you look around your real room to find spirits hiding in plain sight.

The included printed diary is essential to the experience. Pages react when viewed through the camera, revealing hidden scenes, puzzles and ghosts that leap out of the paper. You battle spirits by photographing them at the right moment, and explore short story chapters that slowly uncover what happened to Maya and the diary keepers before her. Other modes let you take playful ghost photos of friends or revisit favourite scares. The blend of real space and fiction is clever throughout, and playing in a dark room makes every whisper and flicker hit much harder.

Available on	Physical copies for Nintendo 3DS

A complete copy matters more than usual here. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, so new digital purchases are off the table. Search for a physical cartridge together with its printed diary, because the book is part of the game itself. Owners who bought the game digitally in the past can still access their purchased games on their own system, though they still need the diary to play properly.

It is one of the most unusual horror experiences on the whole system.
