Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure is the game that launched the toys to life craze. The evil Portal Master Kaos has frozen the Skylanders and banished them to Earth as toys, and as a new Portal Master you bring them back to life by placing their figures on the Portal of Power. Spyro leads a cast of heroes defending Skylands, a world of floating islands full of sheep, treasure and silly humor. The idea of toys that remember their own progress felt like magic when it arrived.

The adventure plays as a friendly mix of exploring, simple puzzles and arena style combat. Every figure has its own attacks, personality and upgrade path, and the toy itself stores levels and gold, so a hero raised at home works the same at a friend house. Elemental gates reward players who bring a mix of characters, and levels are short and colorful for younger players. Swapping figures mid game is instant, which keeps the action moving and makes collecting part of the strategy.
