About Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth for Nintendo 3DS
Persona Q brings together the student heroes of Persona 3 and Persona 4 in one strange adventure. During a school cultural festival, a mysterious clock tower bell rings out, and both groups find themselves trapped inside a twisted version of Yasogami High School. The halls have become sprawling labyrinths themed after famous stories, and Shadows roam every corridor. Two amnesiac students, Zen and Rei, hold the key to escaping, but their memories are scattered through the maze. You choose which cast to lead for the journey home.
The exploring here works like a classic first person dungeon crawler. You walk the labyrinth in first person view and draw your own map on the touch screen with the stylus, marking doors, shortcuts and danger spots as you go. Battles are turn based, and every party member can summon a main Persona plus an extra sub Persona for bonus skills and health. Hitting an enemy weakness grants a Boost that can set up powerful all out attacks. Careful mapping, smart party building and patient exploring make this a deep and satisfying crossover for fans of both parent series.

These days, Persona Q is a cartridge hunt. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, so new digital purchases are no longer possible for anyone. The honest way to play now is a physical cartridge from a retailer or a trusted used game shop. If you bought the game digitally before the closure, you can still access your purchased games on your system whenever you like.
Few crossovers respect both of their worlds this well.
