About Mighty Gunvolt for Nintendo 3DS

Mighty Gunvolt is a small retro platformer that brings together heroes from three Inti Creates worlds. Gunvolt from Azure Striker Gunvolt, Beck from Mighty No 9 and Ekoro from Gal Gun team up in an 8 bit styled adventure that was first offered alongside Gunvolt launch. The story is light on purpose, sending the trio through themed stages and boss fights in a celebration of the studio action platforming roots.

Each hero plays differently, which is the real draw. Gunvolt uses his flashfield and shots, Beck dashes through enemies to absorb them and Ekoro charms foes with her powers. Stages are short and built for trying every character, and the difficulty stays friendly compared with the main Gunvolt games. Extra stages arrived later as bonus content. It is a snack sized platformer with genuine craft, perfect between bigger adventures on the system.

Mighty Gunvolt was a digital release, first as a launch bonus and later sold on its own. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, so new digital purchases are no longer possible today. With no physical cartridge, the honest way to play now is on a system where the game was already bought. Players who bought the game digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games and swap between all three heroes freely.
