Luigi’s Mansion for Nintendo 3DS
About Luigi’s Mansion for Nintendo 3DS
Luigis Mansion on Nintendo 3DS is a remake of the beloved GameCube launch adventure. Luigi wins a mansion in a contest he never entered, and when Mario goes missing inside, the timid brother must search its haunted halls himself. Professor E. Gadd lends him the Poltergust 3000 vacuum and a device for tracking Boos. The mansion is smaller than the worlds of the sequel, but every room is dense with secrets, gold and playful scares. This version adds features that suit the handheld.
You explore room by room, lighting dark halls and solving small puzzles to earn keys. Portrait ghosts, each with a personality and a weakness to discover, serve as the main bosses of the adventure. Shining light on a ghost starts a tug of war as you pull it into the vacuum while avoiding hazards. This remake adds a boss rush mode, a gallery and support for a second player controlling Gooigi in local cooperative play on the same adventure. Amiibo support and a map on the lower screen round out the updates.

Buying a copy today needs a little background. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, so new digital purchases are no longer possible. Today the honest route is a physical cartridge, which you can find through retailers, game shops and reputable second hand sellers. Anyone who bought the digital version before the closure can still access their purchased games whenever they like.
Plenty of players still speak warmly about it today.
