Kirby Fighters Deluxe expands a popular mini game from Kirby Triple Deluxe into a full standalone fighting game. Kirbys armed with copy abilities step into arenas drawn from across the series and battle until one fighter remains. There is no big story here and no platforming quest, just the pure pleasure of seeing sword Kirby duel hammer Kirby while a familiar boss watches from the background. It is a tribute to the series history as much as a fighter, with stages, music and items pulled from Kirbys many adventures over the years.
Each copy ability is a full fighting style, from the quick slashes of sword and ninja to the heavy swings of hammer and the ranged tricks of archer and bomb. The single player mode climbs a tower of battles with a boss at the top, and difficulty choices let you tune the challenge. Local multiplayer supports up to four players, and the game even allows nearby friends to join with limited abilities if they do not own it. Matches are fast, controls are simple and the fans, hazards and items keep every round lively and unpredictable.
