Gundam: The 3D Battle for Nintendo 3DS

About Gundam: The 3D Battle for Nintendo 3DS

Gundam The 3D Battle was an early Nintendo 3DS title built to show off the system. You pilot mobile suits from the Gundam series in missions set on Earth and in space. The game draws suits and pilots from several eras of the long running saga, letting fans fight famous battles with new depth effects. Simple controls keep the focus on fast shooting, quick movement and the thrill of seeing giant robots clash.

Missions send you against waves of enemy suits, with lock on aiming helping you track fast targets. Each suit handles a little differently, and clearing stages unlocks more machines and pilots to try. The 3D effect gives space battles a real sense of depth, which was a strong selling point at launch. While the mission list is modest, fans will enjoy the roster and the chance to pilot so many classic suits on a handheld.

A quick note on buying today helps set honest expectations. Since the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, new digital purchases are no longer possible for this title. Look instead for a physical cartridge from a retailer or a good local games shop. Players who bought Gundam digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games on the system they own. A complete copy with its box and manual can be a lovely addition to a shelf of Nintendo 3DS games.

It deserves its place in the Nintendo 3DS story.
