Dr. Luigi for Nintendo Wii U

About Dr. Luigi for Nintendo Wii U

Dr. Luigi gives Mario's younger brother his own turn in the famous puzzle clinic. Viruses fill the bottle, and Luigi drops vitamin capsules to clear them out. The setup is simple and instantly familiar to fans of the classic formula, but Luigi brings his own ideas to the job. The game was released as part of a celebration of Luigi, and it treats him with real affection. Green overalls, nervous charm and all, he finally gets to be the doctor in charge.

The headline addition is Operation L, where capsules arrive in an L shape and change how you plan every drop. Matching colors clears viruses, and setting up chain combos is deeply satisfying once the bottle gets crowded. Classic modes return for purists, and local and online battles during its active years let players send garbage viruses at each other. The pace can be tuned from gentle to frantic, so beginners and puzzle veterans both find a comfortable speed. It is a small game, but a very easy one to return to.

Here is an honest word for anyone hunting this Luigi spinoff today. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Wii U closed in March 2023, and new digital purchases are no longer possible. The honest way to play now is a physical disc from a retailer, although finding one may take patience. Fans who bought the game digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games, so the clinic doors remain open for them.

Luigi finally gets the clinic, and he runs it well.
