Dai Gyakuten Saiban 2 is the second of the Great Ace Attorney adventures, Capcom courtroom dramas set at the turn of the last century. Young defense lawyer Ryuunosuke Naruhodou travels between Meiji era Japan and Victorian London, standing up in court for clients accused of terrible crimes and unraveling the conspiracies behind each case. Alongside him are the judicial assistant Susato, the great detective Herlock Sholmes and a cast of witnesses who lie, panic and perform their way through every testimony. This chapter deepens the story and raises the stakes for everyone.

Each case splits between investigation and trial. You visit crime scenes, gather evidence and question characters, then take that evidence into court, where you press witnesses, spot contradictions and present the one item that breaks their story open. The joint reasoning scenes with Sholmes play like a dance of deduction, as you correct his wild theories mid stride to arrive at the truth together. New mechanics and longer, more emotional cases make this the richest form of the classic formula, all carried by beautiful music and expressive character animation.

These adventures stayed in Japan for years, which makes the original cartridges special collector pieces. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, so new digital purchases are no longer possible. A Japanese physical copy from an import retailer is the authentic way to own this chapter.
