Child of Light for Nintendo Wii U

About Child of Light for Nintendo Wii U

Child of Light tells the fairy tale of Aurora, a young girl who wakes in the lost kingdom of Lemuria. The sun, moon and stars have been stolen by the dark Queen of Night, and Aurora must grow from a frightened child into a true hero to bring the light back. The whole game looks like a living storybook painting, with watercolor art in every scene. The story is told in rhyme, which gives it a gentle, dreamlike rhythm. It is one of the most beautiful games on the Wii U.

Battles mix turn based strategy with real time pressure, since a timeline shows when each fighter acts and smart players interrupt enemies at the perfect moment. Aurora faithful firefly friend Igniculus helps in battle and in exploring, and a second player can control him cooperatively. Aurora learns to fly as the story grows, opening the kingdom in lovely ways. Leveling, crafting gems and a warm party of oddball friends complete the package.

The digital shop story ended when the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Wii U closed in March 2023, so fresh digital purchases are no longer possible. A physical disc from a retailer is the honest option now for new players. People who bought the game digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games, so their library stays alive. Before buying a used copy, check that the disc is clean and the case matches the right region for your console.

It is a small treasure of the Wii U era.
