Another World 20th Anniversary Edition for Nintendo Wii U

About Another World 20th Anniversary Edition for Nintendo Wii U

Another World 20th Anniversary Edition brings back one of the most respected adventure games ever made. You play Lester, a young scientist whose laboratory experiment goes terribly wrong and throws him onto a harsh alien planet. There is almost no dialogue and no instructions. You learn the world by watching, trying and often failing. Wild beasts, alien guards and deadly traps fill this strange place, but Lester also finds an unlikely friend who helps him survive. The storytelling, told purely through action, still feels bold and fresh.

This edition lets you switch between the original visuals and updated high definition art at any moment, which is a lovely way to see how far games have come. The animation, created with a technique that traces real movement, still looks smooth and human. Puzzles mix quick reactions with clever thinking, and checkpoints in this version are kinder than the famously tough original. Short but unforgettable, it is a piece of gaming history that every adventure fan should experience at least once in their life.

The digital shop story ended when the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Wii U closed in March 2023, so fresh digital purchases are no longer possible. A physical disc from a retailer is the honest option now for new players. People who bought the game digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games, so their library stays alive. Before buying a used copy, check that the disc is clean and the case matches the right region for your console.

It is a small treasure of the Wii U era.
