3D Sonic The Hedgehog 2 for Nintendo 3DS

About 3D Sonic The Hedgehog 2 for Nintendo 3DS

3D Sonic The Hedgehog 2 takes the Mega Drive sequel and gives it a fresh coat of depth and shine. This time Sonic has company: Tails, the two tailed fox, flies and runs at his side as they chase Dr Robotnik across West Side Island. The villain plans to launch the Death Egg, a huge battle station, and stopping him means clearing eleven zones packed with more speed, more routes and more ideas than the first game ever had.

Everything is bigger here. Chemical Plant floods its pipes, Casino Night bounces you around like a pinball, and the special stages race down a half pipe grabbing rings against the clock. Collect all seven Chaos Emeralds and Sonic can turn into the golden Super Sonic when he holds enough rings. This release adds a two player mode, boss rush challenges and the spin dash in full force, making it the richest way to play a true classic.

Super Sonic speed now comes on a cartridge. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, ending new digital purchases for this version. A physical copy from a retailer is the honest way to play it today. Players who bought it digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games on their systems at any time.

A bigger, brighter sequel and one of the finest platformers ever made.
