UnchainBlades EXXiV for Nintendo 3DS

About UnchainBlades EXXiV for Nintendo 3DS

UnchainBlades EXXiV is a Japanese role playing adventure and the follow up to Unchained Blades. A new cast of young heroes journeys into living dungeons called Titans, each one a huge creature with a maze sleeping inside it. The party hopes the goddess Clunea will grant their deepest wishes, yet every wish carries a price. Famous manga artists designed the main cast, so each hero looks striking and feels distinct from the moment they appear on screen.

Exploration happens in first person as you map stone halls, dodge traps and face monsters in turn based battles. Party members can bind defeated monsters as followers, and those followers bring extra attacks and support skills into hard fights. Full voice acting gives the story scenes extra weight, and the mood swings between hopeful travel and dark warnings about desire. Progress feels steady, with new floors opening as your team grows stronger and your monster collection grows stranger.

This one stayed in Japan, so copies take some hunting. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, which means new digital purchases are no longer possible anywhere. A physical cartridge from an import seller is the honest way to play it now, and Japanese copies still appear with patient searching. Players who bought it digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games on the system they used back then.

Few dungeon crawlers look or sound quite like this one.
