Toriko: Gourmet Monsters for Nintendo 3DS

About Toriko: Gourmet Monsters for Nintendo 3DS

Toriko: Gourmet Monsters mixes monster raising with role playing adventure in the world of Toriko, released for the Nintendo 3DS in Japan. The Gourmet World is home to hundreds of fantastical creatures, and this game lets you befriend them, train them and take them into battle. Toriko and other familiar hunters appear as you travel a board like world map, hunting ingredients and testing your team of beasts against rivals in a gourmet monster tournament.

The fun twist is cooking. Ingredients you gather can be prepared into dishes that strengthen your monsters, tying the series famous food obsession directly into the strategy. Monsters grow, learn and combine their strengths, and building a balanced team becomes a tasty puzzle of its own. Battles are brisk and colorful, with creatures far stranger than typical monster games offer. For fans of both Toriko and creature collecting, it is a flavorful blend that never takes itself too seriously. The creature designs lean into the manga humor, equal parts fearsome and delicious looking.
