Tomodachi Collection: Shin Seikatsu for Nintendo 3DS

About Tomodachi Collection: Shin Seikatsu for Nintendo 3DS

Tomodachi Collection: Shin Seikatsu is the Japanese release of the life simulation the wider world knows as Tomodachi Life. You populate an island apartment building with Mii characters based on friends, family, celebrities or pure imagination, give them synthesized voices and personalities, and then simply watch what happens. They fall in love, start bands, argue about food, dream bizarre dreams and ask you for advice on everything from outfits to confessing their feelings.

Your role is part caretaker and part audience. You feed residents, dress them, decorate their rooms and settle their little dramas, while the island keeps generating moments no writer could plan. News reports, concerts and strange dream sequences arrive daily, all performed by your cast with straight faced absurdity. Because every island reflects its owner circle of people, no two saves feel alike. It is less a game you beat and more a tiny comedy show that never stops surprising you. Checking the island each morning quickly becomes a small and happy daily habit.

Times have changed for Nintendo 3DS shopping. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, so new digital purchases are no longer possible. To play Tomodachi Collection: Shin Seikatsu today, hunt down a physical cartridge from a retailer, since that is now the honest way to own it. Owners who bought the game digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games whenever they like.

Populate the island, sit back and let the weirdness entertain you.
