The Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks for Nintendo Wii U

About The Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks for Nintendo Wii U

The Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks puts Link in the uniform of a train engineer in a Hyrule rebuilt around sacred rail lines. When the tracks begin to vanish and Princess Zelda loses her body to an ancient evil, her spirit joins Link on a quest to restore the rails and stop a demon king. On Wii U the game arrived through the Virtual Console service, bringing its Nintendo DS adventure to the big screen and GamePad. It is one of the most unusual and charming entries in the whole series.

Driving the train is the heart of the journey. You draw routes, manage speed, blow the whistle and blast hazards while carrying passengers who grade your driving. On foot, Zelda can possess phantom knights, letting you control both heroes to solve dungeon puzzles together. The pan flute, played through the microphone on the original hardware, returns in spirit through its famous duets. Dungeons are clever, the train travel is relaxing, and the friendship between Link and Zelda gives the adventure a warmth that fans still treasure.

If you want to play today, plan for a disc. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Wii U closed in March 2023, and new digital purchases are no longer possible. A physical copy from a retailer, a game shop or a reliable second hand seller is the honest route in. Those who bought The Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games on their console. Many collectors enjoy hunting down a clean boxed copy too.

It still stands tall among Wii U favorites.
