The Battle Cats POP! brings the cult mobile strategy hit to the Nintendo 3DS. Your army is made of cats, but not normal cats. There are tank cats, axe cats, long legged cats and far stranger things, all marching in a wobbly line toward the enemy base. The humor is the hook, and every new cat is stranger than the last. Under the silliness sits a real strategy game about timing, money and knowing which cats to send and when.
Battles play out on a side view field. You earn money over time and spend it to send cats from your base, building a push toward the enemy tower while defending your own. Saving for a big cat at the right moment can turn a losing fight into a win. Clearing stages earns experience to level up your cats and unlock new forms. The 3DS version adds local multiplayer battles, so friends can pit their cat armies against each other. It is easy to learn and sneakily deep.
