About Super Robot Taisen UX for Nintendo 3DS
Super Robot Taisen UX brought the long running robot crossover strategy series to the Nintendo 3DS. Anime machines from Gundam, Macross, Mazinger and other beloved shows gather for a war that threatens every world at once, including surprising guests from series new to the franchise. UX experimented with partner battle systems, pairing units into teams that support each other in attack and defence. The story is huge, mixing the plots of its source shows into a single campaign where rival pilots become comrades and old enemies return at the worst possible moments.
Tactics reward thoughtful pairing. Two units in a team can guard each other, combine fire and cover wider areas of the grid, so building pairs with matching ranges is half the fun. Spirit commands, upgrades and pilot training carry over the series strengths, while the animated attack scenes remain the fireworks that reward every smart move. Voice clips from the anime casts add drama to the biggest attacks. Patient players who manage resources well will enjoy the long campaign, which keeps introducing new robots and twists deep into its many hours of war.

Japan only status shapes the buying advice here. Nintendo closed the Nintendo 3DS eShop in March 2023, and new digital purchases stopped with it. A physical cartridge ordered from an import game retailer is the way to go, with the system region checked carefully first. Fans who bought the game digitally in Japan can still access their purchased games on their own Nintendo 3DS.
It is a bold first step for the series on the handheld.
