SteamWorld Dig is a platform adventure about Rusty, a steam powered robot who inherits a mine in the fading town of Tumbleton. Armed with a pickaxe, Rusty digs into the earth in search of gems and answers, but the deeper he goes, the stranger the world below becomes. Old technology sleeps in the dark, and something down there does not want to be found. The steampunk wild west setting gives the game a flavour all its own, mixing cowboy robots with glowing caves and forgotten machines humming far beneath the dusty surface.

The digging is the game. You carve your path through the soil, collecting gems to sell in town and buying lamps, ladders, stronger tools and new abilities with your earnings. Teleporters and shortcuts keep trips to the surface quick, while traps, cave ins and underground creatures punish careless miners. Every run into the dark feels like an expedition, balancing greed against the light left in your lamp. Finding a rich vein or a hidden chamber full of upgrades is deeply satisfying, and the story builds toward a memorable final descent.
