Shovel Knight for Nintendo Wii U

About Shovel Knight for Nintendo Wii U

Shovel Knight is a love letter to classic platform games, starring a noble knight whose only weapon is a trusty Shovel Blade. His partner Shield Knight is lost to a dark enchantment, and the Order of No Quarter now rules the land for the Enchantress. Shovel Knight digs, bounces and battles across themed kingdoms to set things right. Beneath the retro look sits a modern heart, with writing and level design that respect both old masters and new players.

The shovel does everything: dig treasure, deflect attacks and bounce on enemy heads to cross huge gaps. Levels are packed with secrets, from hidden music sheets to relics that grant new powers like fishing rods of chaos and glowing lockets. Checkpoints can be smashed for extra gold if you dare, a risk and reward idea that keeps masters humble. Every boss knight has a personality as big as their castle, and beating them all feels heroic. Finishing it leaves the pleasant feeling of time well spent, plus a few favorite moments you will retell for years.

Collectors after Shovel Knight should shop physical. Nintendo closed the Wii U eShop in March 2023, so new digital purchases are no longer possible. Retail copies still circulate through game shops and retailers, and that is the honest route today. Owners who bought it digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games whenever they like.

For shovelry, no knight ever dug deeper.
