Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 Break Record for Nintendo 3DS
About Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 Break Record for Nintendo 3DS
Shin Megami Tensei Devil Survivor 2 Break Record is the Japanese name of the expanded edition known in the west as Record Breaker. When giant beings called Septentriones begin appearing across Japan, a group of teenagers gains the power to summon demons through a strange phone app and a website that shows deaths before they happen. This edition adds a whole new story arc after the main tale, bringing the cast back together for another crisis with the mysterious Triangulum.
Battles play out as strategy encounters on grid maps, where you move small teams and then fight in quick turn based clashes. Each human leader brings up to two demons, so building balanced teams is the heart of the game. Talking, fusing and raising demons between missions keeps your options growing, while fate links with your friends unlock new powers and endings. The added arc is fully voiced and substantial, making this the complete way to enjoy the Septentrione story and its memorable cast.

Buying today comes with a catch: the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, so new digital purchases of this edition have ended. The sound alternative is a physical cartridge, which game shops and import sellers offer in Japanese and western editions. Players who bought the digital version before the closure can still access their purchased games on their system. Edition names differ by region, so a quick listing check saves confusion.
Break Record is the fullest form of a fan favorite strategy tale.
