Rodea the Sky Soldier tells the story of Rodea, a robot soldier who wakes up one thousand years after a war between the sky kingdom of Garuda and the earth empire of Naga. A cheerful mechanic named Ion repairs him and begs his help as the empire returns to conquer the floating islands. The tale has real heart, mixing adventure with questions about memory, loyalty and promises kept across centuries. Its sky world of drifting islands feels fresh and dreamlike.

Flight defines the whole game. Rodea locks onto points in the air and launches himself in graceful arcs, chaining flights across islands, ruins and enemy machines. You collect energy as you soar, battle sky creatures and face huge bosses that fill the screen. The controls take a little practice, but once flying clicks, crossing the sky becomes a joy in itself. Ground sections and Ion's inventions break up the aerial action, and hidden items reward players who explore the high places.
