River City: Knights of Justice for Nintendo 3DS
About River City: Knights of Justice for Nintendo 3DS
River City Knights of Justice takes Kunio, the tough hero of the River City beat em up series, and drops him into a medieval fantasy world. Gone are the schoolyards and street gangs. In their place stand castles, forests, knights and spell casting enemies, all drawn in the series' charming chunky style. Kunio still solves problems with his fists, but now he also levels up, gathers equipment and takes on quests like a proper role playing hero.
Combat keeps the brawling heart of the series, with punches, kicks and throws flowing freely as you move around enemies in real time. Around the fighting sits a full role playing structure of towns, shops, party members and branching paths. Different story routes and endings reward players who explore choices instead of rushing forward. Special moves and weapons keep battles lively, and the humor of River City survives the change of scenery completely intact.

This fantasy detour is now found on cartridge. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, so new digital purchases are no longer possible. A physical copy from a retailer is the straightforward path for new knights today. Players who bought the game digitally before the store closed can still access their purchased games, so their quests and endings remain safe on their own systems.
It is the strangest and most charming River City quest.
