Puzzle & Dragons X: Ryuu no Shou for Nintendo 3DS

About Puzzle & Dragons X: Ryuu no Shou for Nintendo 3DS

Puzzle and Dragons X Ryuu no Shou is the dragon chapter of the twin Nintendo 3DS releases, sharing the land of Dragoza and its droplet crisis with its sister version while offering monsters and encounters of its own. A young Soul Armourer leaves home to protect the world tree and the balance of the elements, meeting dragon blooded allies and rivals along the road. Owning both chapters was the path to a complete monster collection in Japan.

Fights play out on the orb board, where one free moving orb can be steered through others to build elemental combos that command your team to attack. Out in the world you accept quests, explore fields and dungeons and capture beaten monsters, then forge their souls into armour with new active skills for your hero. The loop of hunting, crafting and smarter matching stays compelling for many hours, and version exclusive monsters make meeting other players worthwhile.

Anyone hoping to play it now should know the current situation. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, which means new digital purchases are no longer possible at all. A physical cartridge found through a retailer is the honest route in, and prices vary a lot between loose and boxed copies. Players who bought the game digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games whenever they like.

A fine twin chapter for dragon lovers and collectors.
