Puyo Puyo!! 20th Anniversary for Nintendo 3DS

About Puyo Puyo!! 20th Anniversary for Nintendo 3DS

Puyo Puyo 20th Anniversary is a celebration release marking two decades of popping coloured blobs, and it packs the party full of modes and characters. Arle, Amitie, Ringo and a big cast of old friends and rivals return, each with their own voices and dropping patterns. The game was built as a love letter to the series, gathering rules from across its history so fans could enjoy nearly every flavour of Puyo in one place.

Alongside classic rule sets, the game offers playful variants like fever, transformation and mission modes, plus pair battles where two players share the fight against another team. A shop lets you spend points earned in matches on extra content, and story courses give every character a small tale to play through. Matches stay fast and funny, with big chains triggering cheers and groans in equal measure. It remains a rich package for anyone curious about the series.

One change matters most for anyone shopping today. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, so new digital purchases are no longer possible on Nintendo 3DS at all. The honest way to play now is a physical cartridge sourced through a retailer, and patient buyers can still find fair prices. People who bought the game digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games whenever they wish.

A generous birthday bash for Puyo fans old and new.
