Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World for Nintendo 3DS

About Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World for Nintendo 3DS

Poochy and Yoshis Woolly World brings the handmade charm of the home console yarn adventure to the handheld in lovely style. Craft Island has been turned into scraps of wool by Kamek, scattering the Woolly Yoshis as bundles of yarn across the land. One green Yoshi and his faithful dog Poochy set off to rescue their friends. Every level looks stitched, knitted and sewn, with buttons, felt and fabric in every corner of the screen.

Yoshi swallows enemies and turns them into yarn balls, which he throws to build platforms, reveal secrets and unravel parts of the scenery. Poochy joins in special stages where he bounds across hot lava and tricky ground with boundless energy, and the Poochy Pups can follow Yoshi to sniff out hidden spots in the gentler mode. Collecting yarn bundles unlocks new Yoshi patterns to play as, and short Poochy video clips add extra warmth between levels.

Finding the game is easy enough with a little care. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, and that ended new digital purchases for the whole system. The honest way to play now is a physical cartridge bought through a trusted retailer, loose for playing or boxed for collecting. Players who bought the game digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games on their own hardware.

Soft, sweet and beautifully made, this is comfort gaming at its best.
