Pokedex 3D Pro for Nintendo 3DS

About Pokedex 3D Pro for Nintendo 3DS

Pokedex 3D Pro is a reference companion built for serious Pokemon fans. It arrived as the expanded follow up to the free Pokedex 3D app, and this time every Pokemon from the first five generations is included from the start, no collecting or scanning required. Each entry shows the Pokemon in full 3D, with its type, abilities, stats, evolution chain and the full list of moves it can learn. For players working through Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 at the time, it was the quickest way to check a fact without putting the game down.

The 3D models are the stars here. You can rotate every Pokemon, watch its animation and hear its cry, then view it in your real surroundings using the camera based augmented reality viewer. A challenge mode quizzes your knowledge with questions about types, moves and evolutions, giving the app a light game of its own. Move lists can be filtered by how a move is learned, which makes planning a team genuinely easier. It is a tidy, focused tool that treated the series with real respect.

Time has changed how Pokedex 3D Pro can be found. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, so new digital purchases are no longer possible, and this title never received a cartridge release. That leaves the existing owners as its guardians. Anyone who bought it digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games, so the experience survives for those who were there in time.

For the detail obsessed Trainer, this was pure gold.
