Picross 3D Round 2 takes the number logic of classic Picross and wraps it around solid blocks of cubes. Each puzzle begins as a chunky rectangular block marked with number clues on its sides. The clues tell you which cubes belong to the hidden sculpture inside and which ones need to be chipped away. Paint the keepers, smash the rest, and slowly a little statue emerges, perhaps an animal, a vehicle or something stranger. This second round adds curved and more complex shapes, so the sculptures feel rounder and more alive than before.

Solving uses both logic and careful viewing. You rotate the block freely, slice it open to peek at inner layers and work row by row with the clues, which now come in two colors to show how cubes group together. Mistakes cost you strikes, so rushing is punished, but smart deduction is rewarded with a clean solve and a satisfying final reveal animation. Puzzles are sorted into books with themes, and clearing them unlocks more sets to tackle. It is a wonderfully tactile puzzler that suits the stylus and the dual screens of the 3DS beautifully.
