Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for Nintendo 3DS

About Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for Nintendo 3DS

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is the expanded version of a beloved hunting adventure, set around the fishing village of Moga and the wild lands beyond it. A huge sea monster called Lagiacrus is shaking the village with quakes, and as a new hunter you must grow strong enough to face it. Along the way you hunt dozens of enormous creatures, from the bird like Qurupeco to the fearsome Brachydios, each with its own habits, territory and temper. Two small companions called Cha Cha and Kayamba join your hunts and add plenty of comedy.

Every hunt follows the same satisfying loop. You study a monster, pick one of twelve weapon types, then fight with care, watching for tells, dodging charges and striking when an opening appears. Victory brings scales, claws and bones that become stronger weapons and armor, which open the door to tougher hunts. This version adds underwater combat, a huge list of quests and the challenging G rank for veterans.

A quick note on buying it today. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, so new digital purchases are no longer possible for this or any other title on the system. Look for a physical cartridge from a retailer instead. This is one of the most common hunting games on the system, and boxed copies remain plentiful, making it an easy and affordable place to start hunting. If you bought it digitally before the closure, you can still access your purchased games as before.

Sharpen your blade, pack your potions and respect every monster you meet.
