Makai Ouji: Devils and Realist: Dairiou no Hihou for Nintendo 3DS

About Makai Ouji: Devils and Realist: Dairiou no Hihou for Nintendo 3DS

William Twining is a brilliant young student and heir to a noble house, but his world changes when money troubles push him to search the family mansion for anything valuable. In the basement he finds a magic circle and accidentally calls forth Dantalion, a powerful demon duke. Dantalion tells William that he is the Elector, the human chosen to name the next ruler of Hell while its emperor sleeps.

The story plays out as a visual novel style adventure with long voiced scenes and choices that shape how William deals with the demons around him. Characters like Dantalion, Sytry and Camio each have strong personalities, and the fun comes from watching a proud rational student argue with even prouder demons. Between story scenes you explore key moments of the Devils and Realist manga plot, with a hidden treasure mystery tied to King Solomon running through the whole tale.

Finding a copy today takes a little patience. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, which means new digital purchases of this game are no longer possible anywhere. The honest way to play it now is a physical cartridge bought from a retailer or a trusted second hand seller, ideally the Japanese release since this title stayed in Japan. Readers who bought the game digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games on their system and enjoy the story as before.

A treat for manga fans who love gothic demon drama.
