Lego City Undercover The Chase Begins for Nintendo 3DS

About Lego City Undercover The Chase Begins for Nintendo 3DS

Lego City Undercover The Chase Begins is a prequel to the Wii U adventure, telling how officer Chase McCain began his career. Lego City is alive with cars, boats and busy streets, but a rising criminal named Rex Fury is causing trouble everywhere. As a rookie cop, Chase takes on cases across the city, earning respect one arrest at a time. The story is playful and full of movie parodies, gentle jokes and the kind of slapstick chaos the Lego games do best.

Chase uses disguises that grant special skills, like a robber outfit for opening locks and a farmer outfit for farm tasks and chicken gliding fun. You drive vehicles around the city, chase criminals and search for collectibles hidden on rooftops and side streets. Missions mix driving, platforming and light puzzles, all wrapped in a family friendly tone. The city districts open up as the story moves on, giving you new areas to patrol. It is a cheerful open world adventure scaled nicely for handheld play sessions.

Finding this game now works differently than it once did. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, so new digital purchases are no longer possible. In practice this means choosing a physical cartridge from a retailer you trust, ideally one you can inspect before buying. Your old digital copy is not lost if you bought it in time, as owners can still access their purchased games today.

It earns its place in the long Nintendo 3DS story.
