Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of Legendary Legends for Nintendo 3DS

About Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of Legendary Legends for Nintendo 3DS

Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of Legendary Legends gathers Po, Tigress, Monkey, Viper, Crane, Mantis and a crowd of heroes and villains from the films into one arena fighting game. A legendary tournament is the excuse, and no excuse is really needed to watch these characters trade kicks across rooftops, temples and noodle shops. The cast reaches across the whole film series, including Master Shifu and the villain Tai Lung, It is a celebration of the franchise built for fans who always wanted to settle who is truly the greatest warrior.

Battles are platform arena brawls where up to four fighters knock each other off the stage, using light and heavy attacks, throws and character specific kung fu moves. Items and stage hazards add chaos, and calling in support characters at the right moment can swing a match. Modes include tournaments for solo players and versus battles for friends in local play. Controls are simple enough for young fans, while the large roster and many stages keep matches varied. It plays like a friendly tribute to the films, fast, silly and happiest when the screen is full of flying pandas.

New players should know the shop window has closed for good. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, and new digital purchases are no longer possible. The honest way forward is a physical cartridge bought from a retailer or a reliable second hand source. Those who bought the game digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games on their own 3DS.

Everybody is kung fu fighting, and it is adorable.
