About Kokuga for Nintendo 3DS
Kokuga comes from G.rev, a studio founded by former Treasure staff, and it carries that pedigree in every deliberate shot. You pilot the Kokuga, an experimental tank sent alone into enemy territory to destroy a series of heavily defended installations. Unlike most shooters, Kokuga moves at a measured pace, trading frantic dodging for careful positioning and smart weapon choices. The stark, clean visuals and pounding soundtrack give its slow battles a tense weight, as if every shell matters in the war your tank is fighting against impossible numbers.
Before and during missions you select weapon cards that grant limited powerful tools, from spread shots and lasers to repairs and shields, and choosing the right loadout for each battlefield is half the strategy. Your turret rotates independently of movement, letting you circle enemies while firing from safe angles. Missions branch across a map, so you can pick your route and difficulty as the campaign unfolds. A cooperative mode lets up to four players roll out together in local play, turning the lonely tank war into a team operation. It is a thoughtful, unusual shooter that rewards brains as much as reflexes.

If you want to play it now, plan on hunting down a cartridge. The Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed in March 2023, which means new digital purchases are no longer possible for this or any other 3DS title. A physical copy from a game retailer is the honest option today. Owners who bought it digitally before the closure can still access their purchased games on their system.
Slow, smart and deeply satisfying tank warfare.
